Purpose of the Session

In this first oral evidence session of their inquiry into Forced Displacement in Africa, the International Development Committee will take evidence from key figures from international NGOs and senior representatives from UNHCR. With refugees and internally displaced people reaching record levels in the region, the Committee will explore the causes and consequences of wide-scale forced displacement, prospects for international cooperation under the new Global Compacts, and how DFID and the international community can better support those forced to flee from their homes.
