This evidence session by the Commons Home Affairs select committee is an opportunity to question witnesses further about the issue of operational independence.

The Committee will also examine the key difference between the current role of Police Authorities and the role proposed for Police and Crime Commissioners, collaboration between forces on regional and national issues, and Police and Crime Panels.
