The Home Affairs Committee holds an evidence session on the proceeds of crime.

Chair's comments

The Chair of the Committee, Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP, said:

"The Committee will question the CPS and NCA  the agencies charged with uncovering, and recovering, criminal assets and capital  about what new powers or capabilities they need to start to become more effective in collecting the estimated £1.61bn of debt outstanding from confiscation orders.

The Committee will also hear evidence from Phil Gormley, Chief Constable of Police Scotland, for the first time since his appointment."
