Effectiveness of Government response to violent crime scrutinised

As part of its inquiry into serious violence, the Home Affairs Committee takes evidence from academic experts and practitioners, and the former Chief Inspector of Constabulary, Sir Denis O'Connor on the effectiveness of the Government's activities to counter the recent increase in violent crime.

  • The police's response to serious violence, including the impact of funding cuts and the effectiveness of tactics such as stop and search
  • Early intervention and the 'public health approach'
