MPs to take evidence on Covid-19 ‘test and trace' strategy

Background

The Health and Social Care Committee will consider what lessons the UK can learn from an example of successful test and trace in Taiwan, hearing from the former Vice President Chen Chien-jen. 

Purpose of the session

Baroness (Dido) Harding faces questions from the Committee on the coordination and delivery of the Government's recently launched NHS Test and Trace programme. MPs will also consider the research behind the test and trace programme and NHS Covid-19 App from a team at the University of Oxford as well as hear from Lord (Paul) Deighton on the progress of distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the UK.  

The evidence session is part of the continuing inquiry into the Management of the coronavirus outbreak. It is examining the management of the coronavirus epidemic by the Government and its agencies, measures to safeguard public health, options for containing the virus and how well the NHS and social care sector are dealing with the outbreak.
