Foreign Secretary David Lammy to face questions from the Foreign Affairs Committee

David Lammy, the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, faces questions for the first time from the Foreign Affairs Committee next Wednesday, at 3.30pm.

Mr Lammy will appear alongside Sir Philip Barton, the Permanent Under-Secretary at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.
The evidence session will cover a broad range of topics and will seek to understand the Foreign Secretary’s short- and long-term foreign policy objectives.
The session is likely to cover developments in the Russia-Ukraine conflict as well as questions on the conflict in the Middle East, with a focus on the prospect of a peaceful resolution to the war in Gaza and Lebanon.
The UK Government’s China Audit and recent diplomatic engagement with China at the G20 is likely to be covered by the Committee, as well as the future relationship with the new US administration.
