Baroness Wilcox to give evidence on the Unified Patent Court
24 February 2012
The European Scrutiny Committee has been following discussions on the proposal to set up a unified patent court in Europe, and has reported its concerns and those of stakeholder associations to the House through its Reports on 9 November and 7 December 2011.
The Committee has held two evidence sessions, the first explored the concerns of patent lawyers in the UK and Europe with the proposed court. The second asked the Government to explain its policy on the proposed court, and to answer the concerns of the proposed court’s many critics. Transcripts of both hearings are available on our publications page.
The Committee has invited the Government to come before the Committee to continue giving evidence. Evidence will be heard on
Wednesday 7 March, at 2.30pm: Rt Hon Baroness Wilcox, Parliamentary Under-Secretary, and officials, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.
The meeting will be held in a Committee Room at the House of Commons.
