Minister questioned on Brexit Opportunities role

14 April 2022

The European Scrutiny Committee questions Jacob Rees-Mogg, the Brexit Opportunities Minister about his new role, how he has managed overlapping remits with other Ministers, and about plans for the future of retained EU law, into which the Committee is holding an inquiry.

  • Rt Hon Jacob Rees-Mogg MP, Minister of State for Brexit Opportunities and Government Efficiency, UK Government

The Minister will also be questioned about the recent Government paper, ‘The Benefits of Brexit’, published in January this year. It lays claim to areas where leaving the EU has enabled the UK to forge its own path, while also outlining opportunities to regulate differently—in various sectors of the economy—now the UK is no longer an EU member.
