First panel

The first panel will explore the risks heatwaves pose to health and whether current policy is sufficient to address these health risks. The Committee will seek to establish the responsibilities of the NHS, Public Health England and local authorities in preparing for heatwaves and protecting public health.

Second panel

The second panel will explore the resilience of the UK transport sector to high temperatures. Questions will address the risk posed to infrastructure and public health during heatwaves, and how to overcome barriers preventing further adaptation to prepare UK transport for future climates.
