Charities Bill call for evidence issued
8 September 2021
The Special Public Bill Committee on the Charities Bill [HL] has issued a call for evidence on the Charities Bill.
The House of Lords has established a Special Public Bill Committee on the Charities Bill. The long title of the Bill is “to amend the Charities Act 2011 and the Universities and College Estates Act 1925; and for connected purposes”.
Special Public Bill Committees are empowered to take written and oral evidence on a Bill before considering it.
The Committee would therefore welcome your views on the provisions contained within the Bill, and any other matters that would be considered to be relevant to the subject matter.
The Committee have received copies of the September 2017 report of the Law Commission on these matters (Law Com No 375) and so references may be made in your evidence to that report. The Committee will be considering legislation in this field in general terms and, as such, will not be investigating individual cases.
The deadline to submit written evidence is 13 September 2021.
