Government's Tree planting targets examined by Committee

The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee continues its tree planting and woodlands inquiry with an evidence session. The session will explore the Government's tree planting targets. It will also explore the Committee on Climate Change's recommendations to increase woodland coverage as part of the path to net zero emissions.

Purpose of the session

MPs will question the trade offs involved in delivering increased tree coverage and the barriers to achieving it.

The Committee will also focus on Scotland's recent success in increasing planting rates and ask what lessons England can learn.
