Environmental Land Management scheme scrutinised
11 June 2020
The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (EFRA) Select Committee holds an evidence session to investigate the development of the Environmental Land Management scheme.
Purpose of the session
The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (EFRA) Select Committee holds an evidence session to investigate the development of the Environmental Land Management scheme. The scheme, which is intended to be the centerpiece of future farm support in England as replacement for the EU's Common Agricultural Policy, received scrutiny from the previous Parliament's EFRA Select Committee in July 2019.
The session will focus on the design of the ELM schemes, the involvement of farmers and land managers in tests and trials, how Defra will ensure take-up of the system, and the impact of the scheme on the farming community.
