Prisons Minister to appear before Lords Committee

The Justice and Home Affairs Committee is questioning Lord Timpson OBE, Minister of State for Prisons, Probation and Reducing Reoffending. This session continues the Committee’s inquiry into Prison Culture.
The Committee will cover a range of topics, including the purpose of prisons, staff recruitment and development, the role of prison governors and the provision of meaningful activity for prisoners. The Committee will also ask about accountability mechanisms and oversight of prisons and how prison leaders learn from good practice in other prisons.
