Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee visit Octopus Energy
27 January 2023
The Environment and Climate Change Committee visited the Octopus Energy training centre in Slough as part of its Boiler Upgrade Scheme inquiry.
Octopus chief executive, Greg Jackson, gave members a guided tour of the centre, which includes two full-size training homes, and introduced them to engineers being upskilled to install heat pumps.
During its inquiry, the Committee is examining how effective the Boiler Upgrade Scheme has been, and is likely to be, and exploring the experiences of grant applicants, recipients and installers.
The Committee will write to the Government with recommendations regarding the Boiler Upgrade Scheme and the wider transition to low-carbon heat in coming weeks.
