- Inquiry: Mobilising action on climate change and environment: behaviour change
- Environment and Climate Change Committee
Focus of inquiry
The main focus of the inquiry is on behaviour change for climate change and the environment, though not in isolation, as the committee is also interested in the wider conditions needed for people to make changes and the sequencing of related policy measures.
This will be the committee’s first full-length inquiry since it was appointed in April 2021. This is a cross-party committee which is chaired by Baroness Parminter.
Chair’s comments
“We are experiencing a real moment in terms of public awareness of climate change and the environment. We know achieving our environmental goals will require not just innovation and technology but something far more personal - changing our behaviours. As a committee, we think that it’s important to harness this moment to explore effective behaviour change strategies on multiple levels to help achieve climate and environment goals.
We hope to hear a broad range of views from different sectors of society on a variety of approaches to behaviour change to deliver environmental and societal goals.”
Timeline
The Committee invites written contributions to its inquiry by 13 December 2021.
