Committee to take evidence from social media companies as part of its inquiry into anti-vaccination disinformation

Social media platforms will be questioned on actions to tackle harmful online content about the development of Covid-19 vaccines.

The Sub-Committee on Online Harms and Disinformation will seek to establish what steps Facebook, YouTube and TikTok are taking to counter a proliferation of ‘anti-vax’ content, including disinformation and misinformation.
MPs will also question Government officials from the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport about how they are working with online platforms to counter propaganda and strategies to combat disinformation.
