Conduct Committee publishes two reports on members' conduct

12 December 2024

The House of Lords Conduct Committee has today recommended the suspension of two Members for breaches of the prohibitions on bullying and harassment in the House of Lords Code of Conduct.

The reports arise from two unrelated investigations, one into complaints against Baroness Meyer and the other into complaints against Lord Stone of Blackheath.

In the case of Baroness Meyer, the Committee has upheld the Commissioner for Standards’ recommendation that Baroness Meyer be suspended from the House for three weeks, and that she undertake bespoke training.

In the case of Lord Stone, the Committee upheld the Commissioner for Standards’ recommendation that Lord Stone be suspended from the House for six months.

Both reports will need to be agreed by the House before the proposed suspensions can come into force. It is expected the reports will be put to the House in early 2025.
