Chair of Independent Football Regulator: Comment from CMS Committee Chair Dame Caroline Dinenage MP

Commenting on the announcement today of David Kogan as the Government’s preferred candidate for Chair of the new Independent Football Regulator, CMS Chair Dame Caroline Dinenage MP said:

“Getting the right Chair in place will be a vital next step in the process of setting up the Independent Football Regulator. We look forward to hearing from Mr Kogan to establish whether he has the required independence and experience in regulation to carry out this crucial new role.

The performance of the regulator and its Chair will be highly scrutinised by everyone with an interest in football, so it’s important that the Government continues to show its commitment to setting up a truly independent regulator that has the powers to make a real difference to the health of our national game.”

The CMS Committee will be holding a pre-appointment hearing with Mr Kogan on Wednesday 7 May at 10am.
