The International Trade Committee continue their inquiry into "UK trade options beyond 2019" focusing on UK export industries—particularly car-manufacturing and agriculture, as well as discussing the controversial EU-Canada trade agreement known as CETA.

Purpose of the session

The first panel of witnesses will ask representatives of major UK export sectors about how their industries could be affected by possible UK trade arrangements after Brexit. Among the issues to be discussed are:

Possible special sectoral arrangements for UK-EU trade—particularly in respect of the car industry
Prospects for a UK-EU Free Trade Agreement
Prospects for UK Free Trade Agreements with non-EU nations
The idea of Free Trade Zones within the UK

The second panel will look at the implications for the UK of the EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). The key issues discussed will include:

Economic impact on UK and EU economies
Investor-state dispute resolution
Regulatory co-operation
