Role - Committee on the Future Relationship with the European Union

The Committee on the Future Relationship with the European Union is appointed by the House of Commons to examine matters relating to the negotiations on the future relationship with the European Union. It was previously known as the Exiting the European Union Committee and examined the now defunct Department for Exiting the European Union. The Committee is established under a temporary standing order that has effect for 12 months from 16 January 2020.

The Committee on the Future Relationship with the European Union ceased to exist on 16 January 2021. The Committee is no longer operating and all inquiries are now closed.
