Committee questions Michael Gove and Transition Task Force officials as negotiations continue

The Committee on the Future Relationship with the European Union returns on Thursday 17 December, with a virtual evidence session featuring Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster Michael Gove MP, and representatives from the Cabinet Office’s Transition Task Force.

Purpose of the session

As the end of the transition period approaches and the UK and EU continue to negotiate their future relationship, this session will examine where the talks stand, the main areas of contention, and the ratification process for any agreement. 

The Committee will also question witnesses on the Government’s preparations for the end of the transition period, focusing on business preparedness, customs and border infrastructure, and the application of the Northern Ireland Protocol.
