- Watch Parliament TV
- Inquiry: Carbon Capture, usage and storage
- Inquiry: Clean Growth Strategy
- Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee
Purpose of the session
The Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Committee questions Climate Change Minister Claire Perry on the Government's Clean Growth Strategy, international climate change targets and the Committee's current inquiry on Carbon Capture Usage and Storage (CCUS).
The BEIS Committee will question the Minister and officials on the Clean Growth Strategy and the update “Delivering Clean Growth” and the approach to future climate targets beyond the Climate Change Act.
MPs are likely to question the Minister on Government support for renewable energy, as well as how the UK will meet its emission reduction target.
The BEIS Committee's Carbon Capture Usage and Storage (CCUS) inquiry is examining the Government's commitment to deploying CCUS technology and whether it has a “Plan B” to meet the UK's climate change targets should desired cost reductions not materialise.
