Think tanks questioned on impact of Brexit for UK business
31 January 2018
The Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee continues its Brexit inquiry with a session with academics and think tanks, including the Legatum Institute and Open Europe. The committees will examine what sort of deal the Government should be seeking to secure in relation to the automotive, aerospace, processed food and drink and pharmaceuticals sectors.

UK's future relationship with EU
The Committee has been carrying out an inquiry on the impact on Brexit on each of the four sectors and, during the session, MPs are likely to want to explore counter arguments to the predominant views heard so far that the Government should seek to maintain business as usual as far as possible post-Brexit.
The inquiry is focusing on the degree of regulatory alignment and nature of future relationships with existing EU regulatory bodies and the potential advantages for the sectors of new trading arrangements with non-EU countries.
