The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) is the independent regulator of auditors, accountants and actuaries that is sponsored by the BEIS Department. It sets the UK’s Corporate Governance and Stewardship Codes and aims to promote transparency and integrity in business.
A pre-appointment hearing is an opportunity for the BEIS Committee to question the candidate on their suitability for the role, and to scrutinise the Government’s decision-making on its chosen candidate.
The Committee will publish a short report on the proposed appointment in the days following the session.
