- Legislative Scrutiny: Downstream Oil Resilience Bill
- Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy Committee
During the session, at 10.30am on 14th September, the cross-party Committee of MPs will question Daniel Greenberg CB, Speaker’s Council for Domestic Legislation.
The evidence hearing is likely to examine whether the powers proposed in the draft bill are proportionate to the Government’s policy objective of protecting the UK’s fuel resilience, and whether sufficient safeguards and limitations are included in the draft bill. The session is also likely to examine the existing powers available to the Government, and the extent to which the proposed powers are necessary.
Launched in June, the Committee’s inquiry will examine in detail an early draft of the bill before a final version is drawn up by the Government.
