Industry experts questioned on OneWeb deal

The Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee holds an evidence session to get a technical overview of UK satellite strategy and of satellite-based broadband against the backdrop of the OneWeb deal.

The UK Space Agency, the Secretary of State, Alok Sharma, and OneWeb will give evidence to the BEIS Committee at a later date.
On 3 July 2020, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy announced the UK Government has led a successful bid to acquire OneWeb.
On Thursday, the BEIS Committee will hear from a range of industry experts and explore topics including satellite innovation, cost, design and production methods, the satellite-based broadband market, and the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).
Please note there is no access to Parliament and the session will have remote participation by witnesses and Committee members.
