International Relations and Defence Committee - Role of the Committee

The International Relations and Defence Committee was reappointed on 22 October 2019 to consider the United Kingdom's international relations and issues relating to defence policy.

The appointment of the Committee followed a recommendation from the House of Lords Liaison Committee in its report of 29 October 2015, which was agreed by the House on 10 November 2015.

On 22 October 2019 the committee's name was changed from the International Relations Committee to the International Relations and Defence Committee.
