Our successes
In recent times, the House of Commons Commission has been successful in:
- Overseeing the expansion of the Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme (ICGS) to include non-recent cases, as well as implementing the recommendations of last year's six-month review of the Scheme;
- Changing the culture of this place, through the introduction of new values for House staff and reforming access arrangements to venues and facilities in the Palace to make them more inclusive;
- Agreeing the business case for the Northern Estate Programme (NEP), which will involve the redevelopment of Richmond House to provide a temporary Chamber, committee rooms and Member offices during the decant of the Palace of Westminster; and
- Overseeing the establishment of the Sponsor Body and Delivery Authority, which will be responsible for the NEP and the works to restore the Palace.
