The witness is likely to face questions on the Government's decision not to opt in to the Directive on access to a lawyer.
The Directive which the Committee has retained under scrutiny since 2011 introduces a right for criminal suspects to access legal advice following arrest. It was adopted by the participating EU Member States in October 2013.
