Topics for discussion
The session will be wide-ranging, seeking views on some of the many issues that have been raised in Lords inquiries about the UK's legal interactions with the EU post-Brexit.
The Committee will question witnesses about topics including:
- the type of legal arrangements that could exist between the UK and the EU post-Brexit;
- whether the EU (Withdrawal) Bill provides sufficient legal certainty
- the future relationship between the UK and the CJEU
- the UK's future role in the European Arrest Warrant and other legal mechanisms dependent on EU law
- judicial co-operation and mutual recognition of judgments post-Brexit
- future mechanisms for protecting citizens' rights.
