In a one-off evidence session, the EU Home Affairs Sub-Committee hears from various academics and think-tanks on reform of the Dublin Regulation and the Common European Asylum System.

The Committee will discuss a variety of topics with witnesses including:

  • The proposed simplification of the system of transfers
  • The number of asylum applications expected in the UK if it were to participate in the latest proposal
  • The cost of the proposal and additional costs that could fall on to Member States
