Committee disappointed by Government response to Brexit: UK-EU movement of people report

Lord Jay of Ewelme, Chairman of the EU Home Affairs Sub-Committee, has written to Rt Hon Caroline Nokes MP, Minister of State for Immigration, expressing disappointment in the Government's response to the Committee's ‘Brexit: UK-EU movement of people report'. The letter asks for an explanation as to why the response took so long (the report was originally published on 6 March 2017), and requests that the Minister specify the Government's red lines on immigration for the Brexit negotiations.

Background
The Government's response to the Brexit: UK-EU movement of people report was received on 13 December 2017. The Committee found that, in addition to being months overdue, the response failed to address directly many of the Committee's recommendations and conclusions, and only partially addressed others.
