The EU Financial Affairs Sub-Committee continues to take evidence for its inquiry Brexit: financial services. The Sub-Committee takes evidence from two groups of witnesses on the impact of the referendum result on financial services and the options for a future relationship between the UK and the EU.

  • The effect of prolonged political uncertainty around Brexit on day-to-day operations of financial firms and service providers
  • How Brexit might affect asset management, investment banking and retail banking in the UK and EU27
  • How the loss of passporting rights would affect the different types of firms and their activities cross-border
  • How UK firms might harness 'equivalence' rights to access the EU single market for various products
  • The opportunities for the UK to increase its financial ties with jurisdictions outside the EU
