Areas of discussion

The European Commission is launching a new Circular Economy Action Plan and Farm to Fork Strategy as part of the Green Deal, its flagship policy package. The EU's policy direction in these two areas – from its sustainable product framework to pesticide policy – could have implications for the UK manufacturing and waste sectors, and farmers, respectively, as well as for the Government's policy choices.

In two evidence sessions the Committee will be seeking evidence on:

  • The key EU policies in these areas
  • How the policies might impact UK businesses
  • Whether the Government is pursuing the right policies in these areas
  • Whether the Government's policy choices should be influenced by the EU's approach
