Former Prime Minister Sir John Major to be questioned on standards in Government

Former Prime Minister Sir John Major will appear before the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee at 11:00 on 12 July,* as part of its inquiry into the propriety of governance in light of Greensill.

The session will focus on the role of the Prime Minister in ensuring ethical standards in public life. Likely topics of discussion also include the Ministerial Code, which Sir John Major was the first to publish, the role of the Independent Adviser and the role of conventions in maintaining standards.
