Evidence session on work of Civil Service Commission

The Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee takes evidence First Civil Service Commissioner, Ian Watmore, on Tuesday 16 March in a session examining the work of the Civil Service Commission.

The Civil Service Commission was established to help safeguard Civil Service impartiality through assuring that civil servants are selected on merit on the basis of open and fair competition.
The session will give the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee an opportunity to question Ian Watmore on his reflections of the challenges he has faced as he enters his final year as First Civil Service Commissioner and those that will face his successor. This will include investigating the reasons for the recent high turnover of Permanent Secretaries since the 2019 General Election.
