Committee Chairs call for Dunlop review publication

12 January 2021

Four Select Committee Chairs have written a joint letter to the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Minister for the Cabinet Office, Rt Hon Michael Gove MP, calling for the publication of the Dunlop Review ahead of a planned joint-evidence session scheduled for 28 January.

The Dunlop Review

The Dunlop Review was asked to consider whether existing UK Government structures to support the working of the Union are effective and whether reform is necessary.

The review was delivered to the Government in the Autumn of 2019 but it has not been published despite a clear commitment from the Government to publish by the end of 2020.

The Chairs of the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs, Scottish Affairs, Welsh Affairs and Northern Ireland Affairs Committees have called for the review to be published ahead of a joint evidence session, which is scheduled to take place on 28 January.

The four Committee Chairs have asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster to make a clear statement on when the review will be published.
