Committee to question Lord Evans, Chair of Committee on Standard in Public Life, and Dr Jane Martin CBE

30 November 2020

The Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee takes evidence from Chair of the Committee on Standards in Public Life, Lord Evans of Weardale, and Committee member Dr Jane Martin CBE on Tuesday 1 December.

Conduct of public life

The Committee on Standards in Public Life (CSPL) was established to review the general standards of conduct of those in public office and it has conducted a series of high-profile inquiries into key areas of public life.

Its chair, Lord Evans of Weardale, has recently questioned significant aspects of the conduct of public life, including Ministerial accountability, Ministerial appointments and procurement. He has also called for the publication of the investigation into allegations of bullying by Home Secretary, Priti Patel.

The evidence session is an opportunity for the Committee to question Lord Evans and a fellow Committee member about these issues and standards of conduct in public life more generally.
