Chair's comments
Chair of PACAC, Bernard Jenkin, says:
"Mr Conradi has had an eminent career in the field of safety investigation and we believe that his background lends itself very well to the role of HSIB Chief Investigator. Mr Conradi will bring to HSIB a wealth of experience in safety investigation and a deep appreciation of the importance of maintaining a credible 'safe space'. He has a thorough understanding of the role of Chief Investigator and a vision for how HSIB will improve the standard of clinical investigations at the local level. We are pleased that Mr Conradi emphasised the importance of HSIB becoming a fully independent body, with underpinning legislation, and we are satisfied that he has the necessary personal independence to carry out the Chief Investigator role. We wish Mr Conradi every success in this new post and we look forward to supporting his work."
