Decisions of the Petitions Committee Tuesday 25 June 2019

The Committee considered all e-petitions which had reached over 100,000 signatures, and those over 10,000 signatures which had received a government response, by Friday 21 June.

Petitions which met these criteria after this date will be considered at the Committee's next meeting on Tuesday 2 July.

Petition debates

•  Don't put our NHS up for negotiation

The Committee decided to schedule a debate in Westminster Hall on the motion “That this House has considered e-petition 242300 relating to future trade deals and the National Health Service.” on Monday 22 July at 4.30pm. 
Mike Hill MP, a member of the Committee, will open the debate.

Petitions with over 10,000 signatures which have received a government response

• Public inquiry into disenfranchisement of EU27 citizens and UK citizens abroad 

The Committee noted the Government's response.

• If Theresa May resigns as Prime Minister a general election must be held

The Committee requested a revised response which addresses the petitioner's specific request. 

• Don't put our NHS up for negotiation

The Committee noted the Government's response.

• Start preparations for a Peoples Vote now, to enable answer by 31-10-19

The Committee noted the Government's response.
