MPs question experts about grouse shooting

MPs on the Petitions Committee and Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee hear from experts to discuss grouse shooting before they debate a petition on this issue.

This is a joint session of the House of Commons Petitions Committee and the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee. Both committees are cross-party and independent from Government.
About the session
The aim of the session is to gather evidence on the issue of grouse shooting to help inform MPs taking part in a debate scheduled by the Petitions Committee after it received an e-petition with over 100,000 signatures on the issue.
Get involved
The Committee also welcomes written contributions from people who
want to share their expertise on this subject. In particular, the Committee
would welcome contributions on the following points:
- Should the law on grouse shooting be changed? If so, how?
- What effect does grouse shooting have on wildlife and the environment?
- What role does grouse shooting play in rural life, especially the rural economy?
The written submissions will be used to help inform the Committee session.
The deadline for submissions is 5 October 2016.
