Decisions of the Petitions Committee Tuesday 21 May 2019

The Committee considered all e-petitions which had reached over 100,000 signatures, and those over 10,000 signatures which had received a government response, by Friday 17 May. 

Petitions which met these criteria after this date will be considered at the Committee's next meeting on Tuesday 4 June. 

Petitions with over 10,000 signatures which have received a government response

• Restore nature on a massive scale to help stop climate breakdown 

The Committee noted the Government's response. 

• Grant the brown hare protection under S5 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act

• Provide 15 hours free childcare to working parents for children over 9 months

• The Government to make representations on behalf of Andrew Neal in UAE

• Make PE a core subject from KS1-KS5 with a minimum of 2hrs allocated weekly

• To introduce a law that recognises Parental Alienation as a criminal offence

• Re-instate nursing bursary and scrap tuition fees

The Committee noted the Government's response.

• Price cap on flight tickets and holidays during school holidays

• Give Parliament a vote on whether Article 50 should be revoked
