Decisions of the Petitions Committee Tuesday 16 July 2019

The Committee considered all e-petitions which had reached over 100,000 signatures, and those over 10,000 signatures which had received a government response, by Friday 12 July.

Petitions which met these criteria after this date will be considered at the Committee's next meeting on Tuesday 3 September.

The Committee noted the Government's response.

• UK Government to ban the import of shark fins into the UK

The Committee noted the Government's response.

• Establish a national day commemorating the significance of 15th August 1945

The Committee noted the Government's response.

Revised Government responses

• Restrict the trade in, and private keeping of, dangerous wild animals

The Committee noted the revised response, and requested that it be published.

• Pet Theft Reform: Amend animal welfare law to make pet theft a specific offence

The Committee noted the revised response, and requested that it be published.
