Decisions of the Petitions Committee Tuesday 30 January 2018

The Committee considered all e-petitions which had reached over 100,000 signatures, and those over 10,000 signatures which had received a government response, by Friday 27 January. 

Petitions which met these criteria after this date will be considered at the Committee's next meeting on Tuesday 6 February.

Petition debates

• Make Orkambi available on the NHS for people with Cystic Fibrosis

  The Committee decided to schedule a debate in Westminster Hall on the motion “That this House has considered e-petition 209455 relating to access to the drug Orkambi for people with Cystic Fibrosis” on Monday 19 March at 4.30pm.

Paul Scully MP, a member of the Committee, will open the debate. 

Petitions with over 10,000 signatures which have received a government response

• Introduce automatic approval of visit visas for families of British Citizens

The Committee noted the Government's response.

• Begin a process of removal of illegal immigrants in the UK

The Committee noted the Government's response.

• Create a Freedom of Speech Act and Bring an End to "Hate Speech" laws

The Committee noted the Government's response.

• Let all UK citizens vote on who is mayor of London not just Londoners

The Committee noted the Government's response.

• President Trump should be given a Full State Visit

The Committee noted the Government's response.

• Congestion on the A40 between Witney and Oxford (presented by Robert Courts MP)
