Decisions of the Petitions Committee Tuesday 22 May 2018

The Committee considered all e-petitions which had reached over 10,000 signatures which had received a government response, by Friday 17 May. 

Petitions which met these criteria after this date will be considered at the Committee's next meeting on Tuesday 29 May.

Petitions with over 10,000 signatures which have received a government response

• Give the electorate a referendum on the abolition of the House of Lords

The Committee had previously scheduled this petition for debate on Monday 18 June at 4.30pm. The Committee decided to write to the Government to ask for a more direct response to the petitioner's request.

• Set up a public inquiry into the National problem of Paedophile grooming gangs

The Committee noted the Government's response.

• Reduce the age of Breast Screening to 25-30

The Committee noted the Government's response.

• Make everyone with a life time disability mental or physical have life time pip

The Committee noted the Government's response.
