The Petitions Committee considered all e-petitions which had, before 13 May 2021, had reached over 10,000 signatures and received a Government response, e-petitions that had received a revised response, and public petitions. The Committee also considered a number of e-petitions with over 100,000 signatures that were awaiting debate.
Petitions with over 100,000 signatures
The Committee agreed to debate these petitions on 7 June 2021:
- The UK should ban the importation of Shark Fins
- Ban the exploitative import of young puppies for sale in the UK
- Stop the rising number of ear-cropped dogs in the UK
The Committee agreed to debate these petitions on 14 June 2021:
- Introduce sanctions against Israel
- UK Government to formally recognise the State of Palestine
- Enforce the "50+1" Rule for professional football club ownership in the UK
- Introduce an Independent Regulator for Football in England by December 2021
The Committee agreed to debate this petition on 21 June 2021:
Petitions with over 10,000 signatures
The Committee agreed to request revised responses for:
- A national holiday and day of remembrance for those lost in the COVID pandemic
- Require local authorities to fund specific domestic abuse services for women
- Fund a national anti-littering campaign
The Committee noted the responses for:
- Mandatory printing of car registration numbers on all Drive Thru packaging
- Increase investment in Pancreatic Cancer research
- Fund NHS scheme for women with Endometriosis to freeze their eggs
- Allow all students to return to university at the start of the Summer term
- Make it a requirement to report hitting a cat whilst driving
- Fund additional support for victims of COVID19 racism and anti-racism programmes
- Ban the use of face masks in schools
- Stop the importation of honey bees into GB from the EU via Northern Ireland
- Outlaw discrimination against those who do not get a Covid-19 vaccination
- Prohibit employers from requiring employees to have a Covid-19 vaccine
- Offer 15hrs free childcare for multiples under 3 years
- Apply to join the European Union Single Market
- Tuition Fee Compensation for International Students in UK Universities
- Ban Water Companies discharging raw sewage into water courses
- Increase funding for eating disorder treatment in the community and inpatient
- Increase funding for NHS transgender services
- Remove Pakistan from red list for travel
- To remove the UAE off the 'Red List' by the Summer
- End all requirements to wear face coverings immediately
- Ban fire and rehire employment tactics
Revised Government Responses
The Committee agreed to accept the following Government responses:
- Extend statutory bereavement leave to pregnancy loss before 24 weeks
- Make verified ID a requirement for opening a social media account

- Police violence in Lagos on 20 October 2020(presented by Chi Onwurah)
- Independence on York City Council (presented by Rachael Maskell)
