The Committee has considered all e-petitions which had, before 22 April 2021, had reached over 10,000 signatures and received a Government response, e-petitions that had received a revised response, and public petitions. The Committee also considered a number of e-petitions with over 100,000 signatures that were awaiting debate.
Petitions with over 100,000 signatures
The Committee agreed to debate these petitions on 24 May 2021:
- End child food poverty – no child should be going hungry
- Allow international travel to visit partners and family
Petitions with over 10,000 signatures
The Committee noted the following Government responses:
- Abolish time limits to bring charges for offences for acts of domestic violence.
- To pay every NHS and Social Care Worker in England a £500 "Thank You" Bonus
- Fund research, treatment and awareness of Functional Neurological Disorder
- Scrap the compulsory £210 home test kit when arriving in U.K.
- Increase funding to provide support and research into Tourettes Syndrome
- Allow international travel to visit partners and family
- Exchange of driving licences issued in Republic of Moldova
- Make glue traps illegal within the UK
- Revoke Government cuts to global health research
- Increase Carers Allowance to equal 35hrs at National Minimum Wage
Revised Government Responses
The Committee agreed to accept the following Government responses:
- Change the law to increase sentencing for Hare coursing and poaching
- Waive the January 2021 tax bill for those who have been excluded from the SEISS
Public petitions
- Reduction in VAT for home energy bills (presented by David Linden)
- Privatisation of York Hospital’s Emergency Department (presented by Rachael Maskell)
