On 20 October the Committee considered all e-petitions which had, before 15 October 2020, reached over 10,000 signatures and received a Government response, or had received a revised response. The Committee also considered petitions which have reached over 100,000 signatures.

Petitions with over 100,000 signatures

  1. Cancel GCSEs and A Levels in 2021 
    The Committee agreed to consider scheduling this petition for debate at a later date.
  2. Prevent gyms closing due to a spike in Covid 19 cases 
    The Committee agreed to debate on 23 November.
  3. Lower university tuition fees for students until online teaching ends
    The Committee agreed to debate this petition along with other petitions about tuition fees on 16 November.
  4. End child food poverty – no child should be going hungry
    The Committee agreed to consider scheduling this petition for debate at a later date.

Petitions with over 10,000 signatures 

  1. Review planning legislation to include facilities for HGV drivers.
    The Committee agreed to request a revised Government response.
  2. Extend Tier-4 visas and waive third-term tuition fee for international students
    The Committee noted the Government’s responses. 
  3. Ban the shooting of badgers immediately
    The Committee noted the Government’s responses.
  4. Change DfE school guidance to allow overnight educational visits
    The Committee noted the Government’s responses. 
  5. Council Tax reduction for people paying Estate Management fees
    The Committee noted the Government’s responses. 
  6. Let Us Dance - Support nightclubs, dance music events and festivals 
    The Committee noted the Government’s responses. 

Revised Government responses

  1. Exempt Commonwealth Service Personnel having to pay fees to remain in the UK
    The Committee agreed to accept the revised response.
