Decisions of the Petitions Committee 10 March 2020

This week, the Committee's decisions included holding an evidence session with the Government on its response to Coronavirus.

The Committee considered all e-petitions which had reached over 100,000 signatures, and those over 10,000 signatures which had received a Government response before 10 March 2020.

Petitions which met these criteria after this date will be considered at the Committee's next meeting on Tuesday 17 March.

Petitions with 100,000 signatures

1. Close Schools/Colleges down for an appropriate amount of time amidst COVID19. The Committee decided to hold an evidence session with the Government on its response to Coronavirus. Details will be announced at a later date. The Committee decided to consider scheduling a debate on this petition at a future meeting.

2. Release the Home Office's Grooming Gang Review in full. The Committee decided to consider this petition at a future meeting, once the Government has provided their written response.

3. Include self-employed in statutory sick pay during Coronavirus. The Committee decided to hold an evidence session with the Government on its response to Coronavirus. Details will be announced at a later date. The Committee decided to consider scheduling a debate on this petition at a future meeting.
