Two UK Parliament portraits go on display in Walsall

The exhibition 'Andrew Tift: Immortalise' (25 May – 2 September 2018) focuses on the genre of portraiture and combines brand new works with selected pieces from Tift's portfolio.

These include the well-known acrylic painting of late former MP Tony Benn (1998), which usually hangs in Portcullis House and is one of the most popular works in the Parliamentary Art Collection.

Also included is Tift's portrait of Lord Carrington - the longest serving member of the House of Lords and the last peer to have held one of the four Great Offices of State - which was unveiled in 2015.

The loans were agreed by the Speaker's Advisory Committee on Works of Art in the House of Commons, and the Lord Speaker's Advisory Panel on Works of Art in the House of Lords.
